Britton Zuccarelli, M.D.

Born with congenital heart disease, I've been tied to the medical community since an early age, and I felt a natural calling to care for children and their families. During my medical training, I was particularly drawn to children with neurological conditions. I am proud to provide child neurology sub-specialty care to the Salina community, helping take care of your children's headaches and seizures, among other challenges, and watching them grow and develop.

In addition to seeing patients in Salina, I also have outreach locations in Hesston, Manhattan, Russell and Concordia.

In my practice I focus on building strong relationships of respect and communication between patients and their parents. I am excited to return to my hometown to practice at Salina Pediatric Care! I enjoy working with children of all ages, whether it be for a well visit, an illness or a chronic health problem. I want to help keep children healthy, manage and coordinate care for any health problems they might have, and equip each family with the resources needed to live healthy lifestyles

dr-hessman

Jacob Hessman, M.D.

The opportunity at Salina Pediatric Care is a perfect fit for a person born and raised in Southwest Kansas. My intention was always to return to a rural area after completion of my training at The University of Kansas Health system.

My training was completed with a Bachelor's Degree from K-State in Interior Architecture and Product Design, then a post-Baccalaureate study in Molecular Biosciences at the University of Kansas, with research experience in the Biochemistry Department and KU Med prior to entering medical school. Medical School and Pediatric Residency were both completed at KU Med.

In my practice communication is key, both with patients and families, as well as all other partners involved in the care of a patient. Other professional interests include medical education. Salina has a robust medical community that has performed to superior standards for medical education and my time spent with residents and students is incredibly rewarding.

kavouras

Keri Kavouras, APRN

I was attracted to the field of nursing after caring for ill loved ones and spending time on the other side of healthcare as the patient during my teenage years. I wanted to find a way to help better people's lives in a way that promoted health and well-being. I enjoy working with all ages of children in all realms of care; wellness, illness, sports, and injury.

I completed my LPN in 2001, loved nursing and knew immediately I wanted to further my education. After completing my BSN in 2004, I returned to my Alma Mater, Vermont Tech, to teach. Realizing I loved teaching, I jumped in to a teaching program where I completed my Master's in Nursing Education in 2007. After moving to Kansas in 2008, I joined Salina Regional Health Center. Discovering I wanted to get back in to patient care, I returned to school to complete my nurse practitioner training. I completed a post-master's certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner studies in 2013. I am a member of the Kansas Air National Guard as a traditional Guardsman and proudly serve my country and state as a Nurse Practitioner. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve our community and care for your family as a team member at Salina Pediatric Care!

Jessica Scott, APRN

After caring for my terminally ill mother during her courageous battle with ovarian cancer, I knew I belonged in the healthcare field. There's nothing more satisfying than bringing comfort to patients in their most vulnerable state. My nursing experience ranges from working as a CNA in college at an orthopedic clinic to working as a registered nurse both on a surgical floor and in a neurosurgery clinic. I am a Salina native and have been with Salina Regional Health Center since 2010.

As a mom whose children happen to be patients at Salina Pediatric Care, I value the warm, energetic and friendly atmosphere that Salina Pediatric Care offers. In my practice, I promise to take the time to listen to all concerns, educate families, provide appropriate resources and work in collaboration with my patients and their family members to allow each child to maximize their health potential. I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with this team of respected providers and am excited to be a part of such a successful clinic in my hometown. I'm proud to serve the pediatric population of Salina.

Monica Woolsoncroft, CPNP CPMHS

I am very proud to be part of the Salina Pediatric Care team. I have been serving the families of Salina and surrounding communities for over 30 years. My husband and I have raised 3 children, and this has allowed me to gain parenting experience and guide others through the struggles and successes of parenthood. One of my greatest joys is to watch children grow into adulthood and start their own families and ask me to care for their children. I feel it is vital to care for the whole child, including physical, mental and emotional health, to help them thrive. My interest in children’s mental health led me to become certified in Pediatric Mental Health. I believe through shared decision making, we will work together on the best treatment plan for your child. I will always spend time with my patients and their caregivers to make sure you feel heard. I feel blessed to be providing care for the children of the region.

After completing my BSN at Fort Hays State University, I worked as a pediatric nurse in Salina. Wanting to further my education and increase my knowledge, I completed the MSN program at the University of Missouri Kansas City with a certification as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I am Board Certified by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing: Fort Hays State University, Hays, KS

Master of Science in Nursing: University of Missouri, KSOM

Board Certified: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification

Jessica Curry, PA

Growing up in south-central Kansas, my mother ran a daycare in our home; so, from a very young age, I developed a passion for interacting with children and watching them grow and learn. I graduated PA school in 2019 and have worked in pediatrics since that time, earning additional training in child abuse and with a special interest in adolescent female care. I enjoy all aspects of pediatric care including preventative care, chronic and acute illnesses, mental health care, injuries. It is important to me to use a shared decision making model in my practice. I see it as my role to perform a detailed history and exam of each patient, then thoroughly explain the risks/benefits of all options, whilst considering the personal wishes and beliefs of the family so that we can make the best decision as a team regarding their child's care.

My family and I have settled here in Saline County on land that has been in my husband's family since the Homestead Act. We raise cattle, goats, and chickens and are excited to call Salina our forever home. I consider it an honor and privilege to serve this community and its children.
